If you are a Wedding or a Baptism/Christening photographer you most likely outsource your Photobooks. And if you don’t, you end up spending hours designing them in Photoshop. Or worse! You simply are not offering your customers the choice to have a Photobook and lose them to your competitors who do? Whatever the case would you still choose the same if you could finish each Photobook in a few minutes? If making a Photobook was as simple as drag and dropping the photos? Probably not 😉

Well the solution to your problem is Adobe Indesign. If you don’t have it, go do yourself a favor and download the free trial from Adobe to give it a try. You will immediately fall in love with it and start making all your Photobooks and multi page documents there 😉

Why you may ask? Here are a few quick reasons:

  1. You will save tremendous hard drive space in the long run. Indesign Photobooks are 5-10 smaller in size than your average Photoshop Photobook. Since images are linked externally and everything else are vector graphics.
  2. Your workflow is faster. You can create frames with the rectangle tool and simply drop your photos there. No masking, no smart objects and no hassle!
  3. Your computer performs faster. Dropping a photo to an Indesign placeholder takes a few seconds. Opening and updating a smart object in a Photoshop Photobook might take over a minute for every photo!!! Not to mention how long it takes to initially open the Photobook!
  4. You can change your color scheme in seconds. You basically edit the color swatches you’ve been using, and all the objects in your document using this swatch update to the new color auto-magically!
  5. Easy access to the entire photobook. Want to see the next spread? Simply scroll down. No more layer comps, or worse using a different file for each spread. Want to copy-paste elements in another spread? Simply copy + paste in place and you are done.
